The little picky things that concern president Barry

6.12.2009

Howdy Folks,

Well I just can't help myself today. I have been keeping a list of little picky things that seem to be concerns of Barry and others in his administration. I think it tells us something about the man, or at least lets us see the real Alice through the Looking Glass. I can’t help but wonder why such things bother them? They seem more paranoid than Tricky Dick.

Here are a few of my favorite picks:

1. For the first time in history, the administration has ordered No Naval Swords to be worn for graduation ceremonies at the US Naval Academy this year. Is it because they are perceived to be a threat to Obama? Obama's protectors have ordered graduating Midshipmen, and I suppose Commissioned Officers through Flag rank, to leave their swords at home. Full Dress White includes "Wear Sword.” More to the point, those badges of office have been earned in a manner Obama and his people just wouldn't begin to understand. Important traditions that inspire apparently are way too scary for this administration.

2. Why is the VA now asking veterans during medical exams :

a. Do you feel stressed?

b. Do you feel threatened?

c. Do you feel like doing harm to someone?

When the nurse was asked why these questions were being asked, she replied that if you answered yes to any of them they are obligated to inform Homeland Security and the veteran would lose their concealed weapons permit.

Do you think this administration and Janet Napolitano still think veterans are extremists?

3. Who was advising Barry when he sent out the Veterans of Foreign Wars memorandum outlining changes that he was considering in medical benefits for active duty personnel? You better sit down for this one. The change is that our military was to secure private medical insurance for their own account, including coverage for battle related trauma!

Source: WASHINGTON (CNN) Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance. Eleven of the most prominent veterans’ organizations have been lobbying Congress to oppose the idea. In the letter sent last week to the president, the groups warned that the idea "is wholly unacceptable and a total abrogation of our government's moral and legal responsibility to the men and women who have sacrificed so much." After a couple of Senators said this was dead on arrival, the plan was dropped. But really, what Commander in Chief would have even gone down this road in the first place?

4. Oh, I almost forgot. What did you think about the appointment of Whitacre to chair of GM? I guess the 31 year old car czar didn't want anyone to be smarter than him, so he found a 67 year old telephone guy, who said in an interview, “I don’t know anything about cars. A business is a business, and I think I can learn about cars. I’m not that old, and I think the business principles are the same.”

Yep, I would certainly buy this stock.

5. But speaking of czars, this administration now has more than the Romanovs. How many Czars do we have? Glad you asked. Here is the list:

1. Drug Czar
2. Energy and Environment Czar
3. Health Czar
4. Urban Affairs Czar
5. Economic Czar
6. Regulatory Czar
7. Technology Czar
8. Government Performances Czar
9. Border Czar
10. WMD Policy Czar
11. Intelligence Czar
12. Car Czar
13. Great Lakes Czar
14. Stimulus Czar
15. Cyber Security Czar
16. Pay Czar

Now why do you suppose he needs a cabinet and czars? Oh, I know. The czars only answer to Barry and are not confirmed by the Senate. Oversight is such a heavy responsibility; let’s not forget those pesky forms about whether they are current on taxes. With all the czars around, the Cabinet members must feel like stooges.

6. And the best for last. The 13, I repeat thirteen, Uighurs (Chinese Muslims ) at Guantanamo Bay have found a new home. It seems Barry is so desperate to show his diplomatic skills in placing terrorist from Gitmo, that he has succeeded in convincing the little island of Palau to take them; that is as soon as he wires 200 million dollars to the Palau bank account. Hell, for 200 million I would have taken them. What a deal; that’s only $15,384,615.38 per Uighur.

So what is it going to cost the taxpayer for the rest of them to leave paradise? Wouldn't it be cheaper to just leave the place open?

Okay, this has been too much fun.
