A Democracy of Dunces
How in just 50 years America went from the Greatest Generation to the Gimmie Generation.

America's greatest legacy from its founding fathers is the United States Constitution. It is the cornerstone of democracy and the foundation upon which generations of Americans built the greatest nation in the world. Today, our nation faces from within its greatest peril since the Civil War. An imperial, out-of-control, liberal Democratic Congress that no longer serves the sovereignty of the people is abetting the most liberal administration in modern history to legislate America from capitalism to socialism.
How in just 50 years did we go from being the Greatest Generation that literally saved the world from an axis of tyranny, misery and genocide to a Democracy of Dunces? Why did Americans elect as the president of the United States a street organizer weaned on Chicago politics with a mediocre unimpressive record as a one term US Senator ranked #1 as the most liberal? Not to mention a president with questionable Constitutional qualifications that continues to be the subject of innumerable legal actions.
Part of the answer is over the past fifty years, we allowed our educators to ignore and even rewrite history. We allowed our educational system to stop teaching our youth why America is worth preserving; we allowed liberal educators at all levels complete access to our youth for indoctrination.
The Gallup Poll survey results released May 18, 2009, GOP Losses Span Nearly All Demographic Groups, said the following, "The losses are substantial among college graduates, which have shown a decline in GOP support of 10 points. (The losses are even greater -- 13 points -- among the subset of college graduates with postgraduate educations.) This may reflect in part Barack Obama's strong appeal to educated voters, a major component of his winning coalitions in both the Democratic primaries and the general election."
Substitute indoctrinated for educated and you'll get the point. It is therefore not surprising that Generations X and Y bought into the smooth teleprompter promises of an empty suit with the politically correct rhetoric on which they were weaned by our educators. In fact, their support in the campaign, particularly with their knowledge of the Internet, was part of how Obama raised $656,357,572 in campaign contributions from individuals compared to McCain's paltry $199,275,171. That these X and Y socialist suckers will shoulder the burden of our nation's staggering indebtedness for decades to come is nothing less than poetic justice.
Part of the answer is he was also propped up by an ideologically liberal public media that no longer reports the news, and in this past election practically campaigned for one of the most liberal agendas ever put before the American people. Equally to blame are the Baby Boomer idolaters of influential media idols, such as Oprah, the ladies of The View and the Left Coast cast of PC ranting limo liberals. Can it get any more pathetic when people cast their vote for a candidate because The View ladies gushed about how handsome he is and how sexy he looked in a bathing suit? I can only image how the other 42% of apathetic eligible voters might have voted if they were smart enough to exercise their right.
Make no mistake; a class war is in the making between tax payers and tax takers. Obama and his cabal's "Spread the Wealth" ideology and looming government run social programs will transform America. With the failure of socialism around the world, how Americans can believe our country's direction is a good one bespeaks to how little most Americans know about social and economic history outside their borders. How Americans can even begin to believe politicians and the liberal media that Canada, Cuba and the UK have better health care than the US clearly substantiates why America is so easily led by the nose down a socialist path.
The Physicians' Foundation did a recent survey sending questionnaires to more than 270,000 primary care doctors and more than 50,000 specialists nationwide. Twelve thousand respondents said they'd consider leaving medicine citing a primary reason being their practices overwhelmed with too much red tape generated from insurance companies and government agencies. This was followed by American Medical Association releasing at their annual meeting their prediction that there will be a shortage of 35,000 to 40,000 primary care physicians in the U.S. by 2025.
Well, how important is a physician shortage anyway when there's national health care? I guess our Democracy of Dunces is going to find out. For the moment Obama appears to be America's Pied Piper of promised prosperity, but I for one am glad to be deaf enough not to hear his tune and lame enough not to follow him.
